Teach for SDGs
Our project involves learner-teacher engagement in sensitizing the local community on the role played by SDGs in providing a conducive learning environment and mutual coexistence between our school and the local community. This project focuses on integrating SDG-related content into existing curricula and promoting student-centered, inquiry-based learning approaches. The project is currently being conducted using a variety of interactive methods such as workshops, sports and creative arts conducted within the school and at the local market centres. Most of our activities are done during the weekends when the students and teachers have ample time to meet the local community. The project also provides teachers with access to a variety of teaching resources, including lesson plans, videos, and interactive activities that align with the SDGs.
Some of SDG Activities in that our School is currently activating include:
SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being): We have organized health and wellness programs, such as mental health awareness campaigns, fitness activities, and nutrition workshops for both our school and the community.
SDG 4 (Quality Education): We are implementing inclusive and equitable education practices, provide scholarships, and offer special support for students with disabilities.
SDG 13 (Climate Action): We have initiated environmental conservation projects, such as tree planting, recycling programs, and energy-saving campaigns within our school and the neighboring community.
SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions): We are promoting values of peace and justice through conflict resolution workshops, anti-bullying campaigns, and student leadership programs.
